Location Of Vst Plugins Windows
Hi,
- In Windows 64 bit, 32bit programs (including dlls) are usually in Program Files (x86), but it's just a convention, they dont need to. The 'vstplugins' directory is Steinberg's default so there is where most plugins/dlls get placed if you don't specify otherwise during installation.
- Location: VST plug-ins may stop working when the standalone application of the plug-in gets moved, renamed or uninstalled. It's recommended to always install the VST file directly to the correct destination folder, rather than manually moving the DLL file afterwards. To relocate a product, uninstall it, then re-install to the specified location.
Virtual Studio Technology (VST) Plugins (Windows and macOS) VST is a software interface standard that allows you to load VST software synthesizer and effect 'plugins' in FL Studio. VST is in addition to the FL Studio 'native' plugin format.
I can't find this problem reported elsewhere ...Observed behavior :
The 32-bit version of Live 8.3.4 is installed and authorised. The plugins folder is set to:

At this point installing and running Live 8.4b7 for the first time defaults the plugin folder to the same location, which won't work because the folder typically only contains 32-bit plugins.
Location Of Vst Plugins Windows Indows Nexus 10
Expected behavior :A sensible solution would be to use the folder configured for the 32-bit version, but remove the ' (x86)' part if it exists.

Did you see this error more than once?
This happens every time I restore a partition containing Live 8.3.4 and then update to the current Live 8.4 beta.
Can you reproduce this error on a second computer or on another platform?
See above
Can others reproduce your problem?
Don't know.
